THE SETTING SUN

The cool breeze brushed my cheeks, caressing them making me wish for more as I walked down the corridors leading from the emergency unit to the wards.Amidst the throng of patient's relatives with different thoughts running through their minds ,I sneaked a peek at the golden sun receding behind the branches of trees made almost bare of leaves,by the persistent Sahara dry wind.
I felt a rush of emotions ,I just couldn't move without taking a lung full of the cool dry air though at the risk of having a nose bleed. Instantly I was a little girl again without worries,a little girl  running, climbing trees, riding bicycles, going to my neighbors birthday parties and dancing running man(I loved dancing alot especially dancing round the chair)e.t.c.
Just as fast as I went back in time I was jolted back to reality I was once again the young doctor whose mum just had a surgery and was recuperating slowly, really slowly under my watch(I couldn't shed a tear because that would break her and may tip her into depression),the young girl who would get married soon and have young girls hopefully who would be ambitious and call her mum.it finally occured to me just as the sun was setting we all are gradually passing through this world from suckling babies to  toothless aged men and women.I finally came to terms with the fact that I'm actually growing old and my mum is in the evening of her life.I'm a young woman who works and earns a living,no longer asking for monthly allowances from my parents.I still wonder how time flew so fast.
I may not have any of my parents as my heros like some people do ,I love them both and I see this their evening as a time to really show my love for them before its too late. The setting sun is a beautiful sight so also is the evening of our lives if only we do the right things at the right time

Every moment we are alive and breathing is an opportunity to right our  wrongs ,forgive one another, love our selves and above all listen to God's instructions and do what pleases God.
In the pursuit of riches we loose focus of the essence of life.

One love people
